Healthy peach recipes and A Delicious and Healthy Peach Dessert Summer and peaches go together like peanut butter and jelly. Some of my fondest memories involve eating juicy peaches at the beach—I still remember the sweet juice running down my hand with every bite!

I also remember family members bringing homemade peach crumb pie to family gatherings. The sweet and savory crumb topping on the lusciously sweet, warm peaches was simply mouthwatering! It was full of butter and sugar, and I didn’t enjoy it at all.

Over the past few years, I’ve become increasingly enthusiastic about healthier dessert options. Since peach crumb pie has always been one of my favorites, it was about time I created a healthier version with gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan ingredients.

The crumb topping is made with ingredients like oats, almond flour, and almond butter. The traditional sugar is replaced with coconut sugar for a lower glycemic index alternative, making this peach filling even healthier.

Ingredients for a Healthy Peach Crumble Pie

This recipe has two ingredients: the filling and the crumb. The filling is made with a peach base and some flavorings, while the crumb is made with cake-like ingredients like oats, flour, sugar, and oil.

Peaches: You’ll need 10 ripe, peeled, and sliced peaches! The skins will peel off easily with this cooking method, or you can use a vegetable peeler.

Arrowroot Powder: You’ll need 2 tablespoons of arrowroot powder. Alternatively, you can also use cornstarch! This ingredient helps thicken the peach part of the crumb and prevent it from becoming watery.

Vanilla: Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla for extra flavor.

Lemon Juice: Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice for a slightly tart twist!

Coconut Sugar: 3 tablespoons of coconut sugar is the perfect amount to sweeten the filling. Oatmeal: For the shortcrust pastry, use 1 cup of rolled oats. Oatmeal is perfect for the texture, and you can also use a certified gluten-free version if you prefer.

Almond Flour: Then use 1 cup of almond flour. This brand is my absolute favorite! It has a super fine consistency and creates a great texture in the shortcrust pastry.

Coconut Sugar: Give the shortcrust pastry a sweet touch with 1/3 cup of coconut sugar.

Salt: Use 1/4 teaspoon of salt for extra flavor. It may not seem like much, but 1/4 teaspoon makes a huge difference!

Almond Butter: Then add 1/3 cup of almond butter for flavor and texture.

Coconut Oil: 1/2 cup of melted coconut oil ensures that all the crumb properties are well blended.

Vanilla: Refine the recipe with 1 teaspoon of vanilla.
